Christmastide 1942 by Caithness Violinist
CHRISTMASTIDE 1942
By the Caithness Violinist.
God bless our sailors out at sea
Our Royal Air Force flying free
Our soldier lads, where'er they be,
This Christmastide.
Our hearts are with them, every one
And when our daily task is done
We'll think of them, each mother's son
This Christmastide.
What joy we'd have if they were here
To greet the dawn of this New Year
Or joining with us in good cheer
This Christmastide.
May victory soon come to this land,
For peace is beautiful and grand,
Let's hope and work with heart and hand
This Christmastide.
God bless our dear ones by the fire
In this and every other shire,
Give each the balm their heart's desire
This Christmastide.

I wonder what he would think of us
still using his poem in 2010 !!

Aye; the "war to end all wars" hasn't been fought yet.....
