Had a wee bit of a shock whilst driving to Wick from Thurso on Sunday, as I came across a pair of what I think were a pair of Curlews in the middle of the road.

I've seen the usual Crows, Rooks, Collared Doves and so on but I've never seen Curlews before. (if in fact they WERE Curlews). I was very lucky to have not hit them. I would have been totally gutted if that had happened.

Also had a visit to the table of a Blue Tit yesterday: the first one I've seen in the garden.

I have to say that when I had a look at him with the binos he was The most magnificent specimen I have EVER seen, absolutely feather perfect.
