There's a lonely seal pup at Latheronwheel Harbour...
Early Grey pups are about, although the the main pupping beaches don't see pups until the last weekend in October early November. Dog walkers need to be vigilent on the quieter less used beaches.
Found this pup this morning, probably just a few days old.
300mm Zoom lens ISO 800 at about 75meters at 09.00hrs on a wet grey morning.

treat others as you would want to be treated yourself
I followed up on the grey pup last weekend and got this picture.
I went there again this week to find the pup gone, i assume the mother must have decided to move to a safer location.
There are now pups on the regular pup beaches at Duncansby, with 2 on the main pup beach and 8 on the smaller beach closer to the stacks.
You can have a go at spot the pup.
If you copy the pic to your own computer you can blow the picture up.
Bottom right you will see the 2 yougest pups on the beach, one pup is still coloured by the birth fluid..
The female in the centre of the weed has already coupled with the Bull, this is shown by the blood from the claw rakes on her body.
