Caithness Moths - November Moth
November Moth is somewhat misnamed as in the north of Scotland it starts to appear at the end of September - perhaps that is just a comment on when our "summer" ends! It continues through into November and can be found in a range of wooded habitats but is most frequent in broadleaved woodland. The larvae feed on a wide range of broadleaved trees and it overwinters as an egg on the food tree.
