Lyth Arts Centre - well worth a visit
The Lyth Arts Centre is open daily between 12 noon and 5pm for the months of July and August.
The exhibition consists of beautiful art by 5 Caithness ladies; i.e. Sheila Butler, Alice Calder, Lyn Leet, Barbara Myatt and Joan Powell.
There is also "The Red Shoes" from Fiona Wilson which is a stunning painting project based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale.
The beautiful jewellry comes from Michael Peckitt ; art to be worn.
Then there is "Face North", an excellent group project featuring three artists in residence, Shelagh Swanson, Kate Williams and Janis Mackay and seven Caithness community groups.
All well worth seeing and something for everyone, including the children.
Take some friends for an outing to an excellent exhibition and have tea and home baking either in the beautiful foyer or outside on the terrace.
