Hello, I found this on the FreeCen website, 1841 Caithness census.

Piece: SCT1841/39 Place: Olrig -Caithness Enumeration District: 3
Civil Parish: Olrig Ecclesiastical Parish, Village or Island: -
    Folio: 0 Page: 3
    Address: Kirksfield Farm

    POLSON Christian F 40 Caithness
POLSON Janet F 30 Female Servant Caithness
    ALEXANDER John M 12 Caithness
    BAIN Samuel M 11 Caithness

Jess is often a nickname for Janet. She may be widowed and living with a relative named Christian, because she's clearly a Female Servant on this farm. This John Alexander might be a bit younger than born in 1827, but its darn close and the recordkeeping was not so precise back then. There's another household of Polsons on the same farm.

On 1851 Caithness census, this is the only John Alexander born in Olrig, but the age seems off by couple years.

Also on 1851 census, here is Janet again, and guess what, Christian is Christina her sister, they are both still on Kirkfield farm in Olrig.

    Hope these help. Best, htwood
