    Default The best broadband

    What is it up here?

I'm currently with Bt Broadband and paying £25 pm.
Are there better deals to be had?

Yes, there are better deals to be had, but it's all to do with how you use the internet and what you want from it.

AOL, as recommended above, may be cheap but it also has plenty of down-sides (yet many of their users will disagree through ignorance).

    It's as simple as this:

If you don't have a clue how much bandwidth you need per month, or you don't care, then go for the cheapest deal you can get. The connection will work, and you'll be none the wiser when your ISP kicks in with its FUP/traffic shaping.

On the other hand, if you know what you want from your connection (low latency for VoIP and gaming, high speeds for data transfer, fast upload speeds for work, short contract for an easy get-out, etc.) then you'll need to do some research. And you'll need to be prepared to pay for it.

Choosing an ISP is not as simple as choosing the cheapest option.
