Caithness Moths - Beech-green Carpet
Locally distributed throughout the UK this is the first time that Beech-green Carpet has been recorded in Caithness, having just crept into the County in one of the wooded straths of the southeast. Elsewhere it is found in woodland and on moorland. The adult flies in July and August. It overwinters as small larvae which feed on a variety of bedstraws.
