    Having been to Morpeth and seen the way their swimming pool is run and the added facilities, I have to say that this is a good idea.

    It works out cheaper for the council and the locals get more facilities.
    Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing. But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

    Only problem I have is that the local pools, while generally well used, cannot surely be making money. If they're outsourced would that then put them at jeopardy, or alternatively will it mean a significant rise in the widely-used Highlife card system (which is IMO a bargain anyway!)?
