Hi I'm a computer engineer and own the largest independant workshops in fife. I holiday up in caithness every year and have been for 25 years, I specialise in all pc repair,macs and games systems , it would be a good idea if forum users can share their computer problems and resolutions online , it will save u money and I will also share solutions with ur problems.
Did u know that most viruses can be cleared in under 10 minutes and some makes of laptops have problems that r common and can be resolved also in minutes.

Hi, My laptop is just under a year old and the operating system is Vista.
Over the months I have found that it has progressively slowed down eg. been very slow to load pages and booting up.
I have noticed on the Task Manager, even when only on the internet, the Ram being used varies between 100 Mb and 600 Mb and the processor usage varies between 25% and 100%.
I have been careful and have not installed any 'demanding' software.
Would this high usage cause the laptop to slow down?
I have been in contact with the manufacturer and carried out a recovery procedure and they are sending me a replacement hard drive and installation discs as they think this may help.
I would appreciate any information regarding this problem as my warranty is soon to finish.
