Yep, I can recommend NetMeter too. Been using it for yonks, mainly just to assess my download/upload speeds at any given time.
As a freeware monitoring tool it has few faults, the main one being that it doesn't (or can't) monitor your router traffic. It just tracks your PC's traffic and not any other PCs on your LAN/WAN.
Still, it's a cracking bit of software.
