One of the emeralds is on the outside of one of my upstairs windows. We are about to risk life and limb to photograph it - - which is the most likely? - they all look pretty similar in South's

That is a Large Emerald and an excellent record. There is only one previous record for Caithness - from Dunbeath in 2005. The only other emerald we get up here is the common Light Emerald which has a distinctive brownish, pale bordered line across the middle of the wings.
Could you send me a PM with your location - preferable with a grid reference - as I would like to include the record in the County data base?
