Caithness Moths - Green Arches
The lovely Green Arches is quite a large moth (wing length ca 25mm) which has been recorded only twice in Caithness, once in 2005 and once this year. This one is fresh but they do wear quite quickly and can lose all of their green colour becoming darkish. They are found in broadleaved woodlands and the adults fly in June and July having overwintered as a larva.
