No 2. for me, liking the wind through the dock leaves.

Why does that monument always look like a blow up castle?

Very nice - Harrolds Tower stands on the hill up past Lady Janets Wood on the left hand side as you head towards Castletown - http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&...09624&t=h&z=17

Tone mapping is a processing technique that gives a shot more detail and contrast. It can be confused with HDR shots, high dynamic range, where you take several sots of different exposure times,
blend them together to get a more detailed shot.
Some people dont like HDR shots because it doesnt look real but thats because the HDR shot has been tone mapped.Normal HDR just looks like a sharp well focused shot with less shadows and highlights but more detail.
When you use tone mapping you can make the effect look more obvious by altering the highlights of the shot or the mid tones or the shadows so you can be subtle with it or as bold as brass, its up to you.
The tone mapped version of this shot was in the Scottish Field magazine a few months back so they liked it anyway.
