    Waited for ages at Dunnet beach to get a break in the clouds but it didnt happen,Had to be content with a shot of this weird looking algae.

    Wow, it almost looks like ancient cave drawings in the sand! Or tree roots, even!

    Looks a bit like a small wash up of red algae, through I thought that red algae was of warmer waters.

    I like the texture the receding tide left marked in the algae.

    Really like this, very effective.

    Yes it is Red Algae, been in the bay for most of the last year or so.

    Like the pic!

    But that red algae is usually really thick when it washes up really stinks as it rots.
