I have a photo of the Elephant Hawk Moth found in the south.
Would you like a picture, or is this only for Caithness moths ?

Aren't they beautiful.
Hi trinkie
Elephant Hawkmoth has only recently started to colonise Caithness. Two larvae were found in 2006 and single adults were trapped in 2007 and 2009. All records are from the north east of the County. It will be interesting to see if they get established or whether the cold winter of 2009/2010 has halted their progress.
Pterodroma
Thank you Pterodoma, I do hope this beautiful moth takes a liking and stays in Caithness.
I understand they enjoy the Fuschia, so perhaps lots of folk should plant some in a sheltered corner to encourage the Moth.

I agree they are really beautiful, but sadly moths etc give me the creeps.
