    Default "dead" horse

I've just looked out of my window and seen my yearling lay prone, flat out on his side in the field with all his legs sticking out like a dead thing - in the pouring down rain. I had to go out and poke him to make sure he was still with us I didn't know horses lay like cows - I've never seen it before. Or maybe he has been learning of all the stirks that got into our field a couple of months back. That was fun - trying to work out which was the black horse in a field of black cows...

In the pouring rain?!?! lol what's he like!! I hate seeing them lying flat out... usually feel the need to go over and give them a wee prod in the ribs just to be sure they're still with us!

The problem was he is black, they are black, they were all the same size and there was about 50 of them. He was hiding in the middle. Think Where's Wally? but in black and white. Well actually just black

And you do have to prod them--they can't seem to hear you approaching so you are really worried and in a panic. Then they look up and say 'Wot do you want'. Luckily my horse who does the dead cow look snores very loudly so I don't need to prod

Heres Summer, Katie and Bella 'playing dead' lol!

We also had someone call us one day to say that 'the white horse is lying down, its not moving and theres birds sitting on it pecking it' - after a mad dash out to the field we disovered it was just Folly sunbathing!! She got to her feet pretty quickly to find out what all the fuss was about lol :L

    Found Wally!

It always worries me when they do that! The amount of times I've gone running outside to leap over a wall and prod a "dead" horse! Takes me longer to get worried when its sunny, but they do randomly do it when its pouring down with rain!

This thread reminded me of a picture taken last summer. Thought it was worth posting up.
