Caithness Moths - Dwarf Pug
This Dwarf Pug caught in the south of Caithness is the first record for the County. Pointers towards its identification are the rounded forewing and the prominent elongated dark spot near the centre of the wing. Found mainly in plantations of introduced conifers the adult flies from May to June having over wintered as a pupa in loose earth.
