Caithness Moths - Nut-tree Tussock
Before this year Nut-tree Tussock had been recorded in Caithness only once since 1975, in 2005. This year there have been records from Reay and Berriedale. The adult flies from late May to late July and can be found in broadleaved woodland. It over winters as pupa in a cocoon in the leaf litter and the larvae feed on a variety of broadleaved trees.
