    Default The Sun

Excuse me sir, can you help identify
That bright yellow circle up in the sky
It has been so cold, the past few days
But now the street filled with a warmly haze

And the folks are out in shorts and t shirts
Just loving the weather, its like Gobi Desert
Sun glasses, sunscreen, refreshments on sale
Spades for the sand and a blue plastic pale

Out on the street, outside the crown
Drinking the beers, frowns upside down
Even the traffic warden cracking a smile
He must be roasting walking all the miles

But why I'm inside on this glorious day
I'm working and busy all throughout May
I don't have protection from the harmful rays
And my skin turns like lobster, my arms go ablaze

Its cooler inside and that's where I'll be
On Caithness.org for all, my poem to see
I pop outside to get some munch
Through the quickest hour, that is lunch.
I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore

    I like.
'But now the street filled with a warmly haze' - that's a good 'un!
