For me, it has to be 'The Shawshank Redemption'
LOTR worked wonders for my insomnia, but to each their own, I say.

In the old one's must be Whisky Galore, The Wicker Man, and the new one's Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, Mississippi Burning, and Enemy of the State. I think Gene Hackman is a brill actor, well I suppose they all are.

i too can't just pick one so here's my categories and favourites-

    comedy-happy gilmour

musical-tie between evita, rocky horror picture show and tommy

based on a true story-goodfellas and a sense of freedom (the jimmy boyle story)

    thriller- cape fear

    animated-valiant

costume drama-she wore a yellow ribbon

horror- hmm, now this is a hard choice i'll settle for wrong turn.

scottish based movie- restless natives (again a tough choice with both gregorys girl films and trainspotting being up there too)

    thats enough for now.
