What was it?

I know nowt about birds, but I was woken at 6 this morning by something tapping at the window. It was a wee bird, smaller and slimmer than a sparrow, long thin straight beak, grey and white plumage with a long tail. Sweet wee thing. Not much to go on but any clues?

Sounds like a Pied wagtail. Give it a go in google images and see what you think.

I've got an Oyster Catcher here who does exactly the same thing about 0500 every morning. Wish it'd have a lie in at weekends haha.
