I have read that the Goldfinches really like Niger seeds, you get them in most packet of bird feed.

Siskins also like Nyger seed. Get mine from the Pet Shop in Inverness, or on line from the RSPB.

    happy feeding,

ps: - Nyger seed needs a special feeder. One with small holes.

Love the photos,I have a few that I'll put on as soon as I work out how too....would be great to have my suspicions on identifications confirmed. Is it my imagination or have we had a slightly earlier Spring to that of Springwatch? It seems to me that our swallows fledged a little earlier and all the baby blue tits/and great tits have come back with their parents to visit us for the first time. Two years ago I was increasingly frustrated that we had none but now inundated since putting out meal worms....they love em.

    What beautiful photos!

Do those of you who feed Niger Seed find that they do attract finches?

Highlander, is that "Broth Mix" you are fattening those birds up with?
Once the original Grumpy Owld Man but alas no more
