    Default Icelandic Jumpers

Does anyone have a pattern for one of those lovely thick jumpers which we were all knitting in the 1980's? Yes, even me!! I fancy trying one again.

I have patterns for Aran jumpers but nothing for Norwegian ones. They were nice but I presume quite difficult to knit.

Can you please let me know if you do come across any - I would be interested as well.

I would love to try knitting one, I think it would be a challenge.
Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing. But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

I have loads of these patterns - got them recently in both the Blythswood shop in wick and The Reel Thing (in the old patterns box) - I think there were plenty left.
If you would like to borrow any of mine then you are more that welcome as I have loads of variations of the classic Icelantic jumper.

I did actually find one that was crocheted - BUT I think I must have set the bag down in a shop in Wick cos when I got home I had no patterns. :-(

I have a lot of the 1970's & 1980's pattern books and leaflets. If you like you can purchase them from ebay. I'm in Australia and currently have stacks of Lopi wool on sale as they are making a comeback.

I know this thread is a bit old but, if anyone is looking for Norwegian/Fair Isle type patterns a great site to get them free is here.. (scroll down to the Norwegian section)

I'm going to be starting this tunic ... http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/visoppskrift.php?d_nr=116&d_id=3〈=en

as soon as I evict the hoodie I'm working on from my needles. The DROPS yarn is nice stuff too and not too expensive.

As for the Icelandic, I see they sell Alafoss Lopi yarn here... http://www.modernknitting.co.uk/alaf...n-27750-0.html
