It's gorgeous I really miss it there. Is that Clachan Sands? Lucky doggies. Where did you stay? (If you don't mind me asking).

I lived there for 10 years.

I lived there for 10 years.

It was near a place called Solas on the north coast just up from the Co-op, & we stayed http://www.scotland-holiday-cottage....lands/uist.htm.

It was my first time on Uist & I didnt want to leave, such peace & solitude.

Did you use to live there ? If so how did you find it ?

Ah I see, that would likely be Vallay Beach then

I used to live in Lochmaddy, we owned the hotel there. Its such a beautiful island, I really do miss it. I still haven't been able to go back for a holiday yet, because I won't want to leave!

Sarah, Lochmaddy is a lovely place to live you were so lucky living there.
I cannot get this Island out of my head, its like nothing else. I felt so clostorophobic coming back to Inverness.

Believe it or not, it was Inverness we left! We owned the Springfield Hotel (now the Maple Court) along the river. My Mum had just had enough of the city, and it just seemed to different compared. It really was a wonderful life over there, but 10 years was enough. We got to the point where we hated the winters, and having to always rely on the ferry was getting tiresome, every trip away is at least a 2 day affair, even something simple like going to Tesco or clothes shopping. So now we live in a place like Lochmaddy, but on the mainland Kinlochbervie in Sutherland!
