I’ve just watched Saving Lives at Sea, which featured the Thurso lifeboat and its crew towing a stricken tanker to safety in horrific weather conditions back in 1999. The crew played a blinder in the TV interviews, which matched their professional heroism back on the day. Particularly memorable were the crew’s homages to the late Billy Farquhar, a man Caithness will always be proud of.
