Fishing in/around halkirk/thurso/caithness

Hi guys/gals

I moved up to the area Oct last year, and now i have settled in a bit im looking to get out and wet my lines. I stay in halkirk, and have been told that the river on my doorstep is a good fish. I however have never fished on a river before, only done loch fishing (for trout obv lol)

What i am looking for is a friendly fisher or 2 to take me out and show me a few good places to fish around here. Give me a few pointers and hopefully set me up with my first salmon.

I have the basics, both knowlege and equipment, just need it fine tuned a bit.

Anyone up for the challenge?
