Former Watten man accused of bogus call

A MAN is alleged to have pretended to police he had been burgled.
Phillip Siviter denied the charge when he appeared from custody today. He is accused of making the claim in a 999 telephone call from his former home at Riverside Cottages, Watten.
Siviter (49) also pleaded guilty to repeating the claim to officers who responded to the emergency call on Wednesday, and wasting their time.
Siviter, described as homeless, was granted bail and advised to make known his address to his solicitor, once he obtained new accommodation. His trial was fixed for November 22.

Housebreaking alleged

Alexander Cormack appeared from custody and denied two charges of housebreaking.
These allege he broke into one house in Breadalbane Terrace, Wick, on August 23 and stole two television sets and £20 in cash, from another home in the same street.
Cormack (22) of Main Street, Lybster, also denied two charges of breaching bail. He will return to court on September 28 to stand trial.
