Fined £200 for club punch

A WICK man, who assaulted a patron in a local club, was fined £200 at the town's sheriff court today.

The incident occurred after bad blood between Greg Thomson and Gordon Findlay, escalated during a pool tournament at the Seaforth Highlanders Club, on May 21. Thomson lost his temper, approached Mr Findlay and punched him once on the head.

Other patrons intervened and Thomson, of 6 Girnigoe Street, Wick, left the club and the police were notified.

The accused, a first offender, admitted the assault. .
