Fireworks finish will see gala week go out with a bang

WICK GALA enters it’s final phase with the today’s highlight, the eagerly-awaited band bash at the Assembly Rooms.
Featured tonight will be Chicken Pickers, Company of Liars and Jude. It’s a ticket-only gig, with a bar but admission is restricted to over 18s. Tickets are available from the Blythswood shop. Earlier in the day, Wick Youth Club’s summer programme is certain to attract a few visitors.
Tomorrow, Saturday, the gala’s grand finale, the youth club hosts the Pulteneytown People’s Art showcase and at 1pm, it’s fun for all the family at the “It’s a Knockout” competition at the Riverside. Entry forms can be obtained at the swimming pool.
The Wick RBLS pipe band sets the scene, for the evening’s celebrations with another Market Place, parade, followed by the Riverside barbecue with tasty kippers, and music, at 8pm and the ever-popular fireworks display, bringing an action-packed week to a close.
Please note-the public toilets will be open during the evening, to coincide with the fireworks display.
