My football poem. needs a bit of work

THE PASSION AND THE GOALS
.......................... 2009

The goal I scored was a good one, the goal I scored was a thumper

For I went passed 5 defenders, and put it between the jumpers

I went on my celebration, passing cows alike

Then the farmer shouted at me, hey loser! take a hike.

No I’m not Roberto Carlos or even Michael Mols

At work, home or at play, I think about scoring goals

Football on the TV im shouting at the screen

Neighbours bang on the walls, must think im quite obscene.

I controlled with my left foot, I controlled with my right

But when I took a shot, the ball had lost its flight.

Competition or kick about I treat them all the same

In the snow, the wind, the freezing cold, even in the rain.

Football is not a sport, it’s a religion, a hero, its pride

To run out on the football pitch with 10 hero’s by your side.

When the player makes a mistake sure you hear the laughing

But it’s the ooo’s and aaah’s that make me feel the passion.

Ten mins to go we are down by one, now’s my chance to shine

Until I slip with too much excitement, then the manager calls my time

The goal I scored was a good one, the goal I scored was great

For I went passed 4 defenders, but put it past my team mate
