Found not guilty after prosecution throws in towel

AN elderly Thurso man has been cleared of disorderly conduct at his home in the town.
John Gunn, of Morven Place, pleaded not guilty to a charge of breach of the peace, at Wick Sheriff Court today.
It was alleged that the 71-year-old had shouted and swore outside his home, on November 1, last year.
However, after hearing evidence from two witnesses, senior fiscal depute, David Barclay intimated he was no longer seeking a conviction.
Sheriff Andrew Berry formally found Gunn not guilty.
