The Mick West trio combine one of the best voices in Scotland with two superb musicians to produce a sound rooted in the tradition but not confined by it. Mick West has a formidable reputation as a singer. An established figure on the Scottish Folk scene and well respected by his peers, Mick has become well known outside Scotland with his band. They have been described as "a must for any fan of Scottish song". On hearing Mick’s performance on his recent cd , U.S. magazine Sing Out stated "why is this man not a household name..?" Mick can be seen on tour in the Highlands and Islands in April and May with top players Fraser Fifield and Frank McLaughlin who provide a perfect musical backdrop to Mick’s voice, exploring the world of Scot’s song with creative arrangements on guitar, sax, low whistles and percussion.
