Decision on Caithness famer's turbine plan
CAITHNESS FARMER'S TURBINE PLAN REJECTED
HIGHLAND councillors have given the thumbs down to a plan by a Caithness farmer to erect a single turbine with which to power his buildings, because it would spoil the view of the A-listed Castle of Mey.
The authority sided with the recommendation from officials to refuse the application from neighbouring Barrogill Angus.
The planning committee received 18 objections to his applications and 12 letters of support.
It is understood that Mr Angus is considering an appeal against the refusal.
