The campaign to make it permanent goes on

WORKERS at the closure-threatened Wick tax office have won a temporary reprieve but will now be fighting to make it permanent.
The closure, planned for next year, has been postponed for a year ,but the staff won’t be resting on their laurels.
The 20-strong workforce will be using the breathing space until 2014, to press for the anticipated closure to be lifted altogether.
The latest development, revealed on HM Revenue and Customs website, followed a concerted campaign by the staff union, politicians and members of the public, against shutting the office in Girnigoe Street, Wick, mounted seven months ago.
