My GGGGrandfather Alexander Finlayson was born in Thurso and married Margaret McAlister in Thurso on 3.1.1806. I believe her father was William McAlister . Their so James was born in Thurso on 29.4.1818. He married Elizabeth Grote (born Wick circa 1818) in Wick in 1844. James and Elizabeth moved from Wick to Wishaw via Leith and then on to Glasgow where the family have been since.
If anyone has come across any of these names in their research , particularly the wives , I would be grateful to hear from them. Any information would be helpful
