I ordered off Ebay a Intel Pro 2200bg Mini PCI Wireless Card for my laptop. I have installed the card and the pc found it straight away, downloaded the drivers but I have only been able to connect to my router once and that was for less than a minute.

With the laptop about a metre away from the router I get about 2 bars on the signal strengh and some times cant find the router at all. Does this sound like the wireless card is faulty or am I doing somthing wrong?

cant see how unless you do have a faul
how about testing it near another wireless point?
neighbour friend cafe?
that would nail it.

there is one other thing that it could be
are you sure your laptop HAS the built-in aerial that that card requires?

Thanks for your help. Found online that an attena is stored in the slot next to the mini pci card, plugged it into the card and connected straight away with full signal.
