Hi everyone,

I thought I would post this, and hopefully it will save people some money.

I had been trying to track some relatives who emigrated to Canada, and I had originally done it through "ancestry.co.uk" I think it was. The passenger manifests are available here, but at a charge for viewing.

I have since found that these are available for free at the followinog website

http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/passenger/index-e.html?PHPSESSID=ptaug62id8gbrgi01eq7e69gf6

I have some more tracing to do on others who left for Canada, and I will be doing it here from now on.

Steven

Hope the site does help. I should just add that the site I listed covers 1865 to 1922, but is not serchable by passenger's names. It only allows you to search by year, ship name etc.

The following site is searchable by surname and covers the period 1925 to 1935.
http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/immigration-1925/001012-100.01-e.php

Hope this clarifies things as I wasn't very clear in my first message.
