This thread made me remember a wee poem told to me by my late Mum ........

Backwards, turn backwards o' time in thy flight,
And make me a child again.. just for tonight...

Ahhh, Times winged chariot.....

I put the following lyrics (Pink Floyd: Time) in a birthday card for a friends 50th:

And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

It didn't go down too well with her..........[para]

A sad one for me bekisman -an old friend has just died from motor neurone disease and his funeral is on the 25th. :(

It's certainly put the usual January blues - shortage of cash plus being on a diet - into perspective though.

It'll be my 25th birthday - really hope it isn't depressing for everyone!

I'll be crawling under a rock come Monday - fretting over being quarter of a century old with siblings almost 10 years younger than me, I think their teasing's making it worse... please tell me it gets better!

I have often found the 26th much worse, mostly due to what I consumed on the 25th.

Something to make everyone feel better, especially the veggies:
