This is similar to sayno to 0870. Get Human sets out to list the quickest way to bypass a computerised switchboard and speak to a human being in the customer services departments of banks, utility companies and retailers.
Anyone can add to site's database and rate the companies you call for speed and helpfulness of human response.

great link. I believe someone in USA was doing this on a much larger scale. Perhaps the orgers can add any that they know works too. There is nothing worse sometimes being on a phone with an automated service, though sometimes I also get a human but neither they nor I can understand each other!

I can't get the link to work so I don't know what the tips are.

I have found that if you dial up the number and are told to press a button for this or that, don't press anything. I am then put through to someone. It has always worked for me so far.

I phoned AOL once and it was 27 min before I got a person,I was so frustrated that I took my anger out on the girl that answerd the call.
She said she was very sorry for the delay and would tranfer me to the appropiate department.
Then very politly cut me off.
33 min later when I got through a second time I was to sheepish to be rude again.lol

Couldn't get golach's link to work either, so not sure what it said, but on this morning's radio a listener offered this trick to bypass the automated part straight to a human: Swear loudly into the telephone.
The disc jockey tried it but it didn't work...it was an April Fool's joke.
