Ha ha yes these are still alive and kicking at the moment though, i am growing these on for the snakes that have a 'larger' appetite and as unicorn says a couple are being given as pets when ice allows access to the little lad that's picking them :)

i'm not all heartless lol

They are cuties, but as you said everything has to eat, and they look like they have a jolly time while still on the hoof so to speak!

I do like Rats but couldn't have one as it would upset my dogs who would like to eat them.......!!!

I'd rather not see photos of cute furries that will be popped in the freezer when they are big enough. I like snakes and they serve a purpose in the ecosystem but I have never understood the thrill of keeping a snake confined to a tank.

Tuggs I'm afraid I agree with Margaret.

This is Pets Corner and these are not pets but food!

they are pets.... until they are humanly killed to feed to another pet.

if this thread was posted on the general forum would it be moved by mods into pets corner? most likely!

I did not make an assumption here, I just read the posts. They are adorable wee things. I would not want to be responsible for killing any of them even if I did it humanely.

Glad these ones escaped!

Have to say I wouldn't kill my pets to feed others humanely or otherwise!:confused

However, I'm not going to get into a slanging match as I know you and your Mum do care for animals very much.

I think I speak for Margaret M as well when I say it is upsetting to see lovely wee critturs that we know will end up as food and for this reason they don't belong on Pets Corner when this is their fate but so glad that these have got a lovely home with Unicorn.

I have to agree with you, snakes belong in their natural habitat not kept in a tank but that's just my opinion..........and i dont think this should be on pets corner either!

I agree with Margaret here. Seeing the wee fellas that have a new home is great, but not a picture where it is clearly stated that the rest will be killed, whether humanely or not. :~(

I realise this practice for feeding snakes goes on all the time, and also that Tugmistress cares very much for animals on the whole, but I personally find killing any animal distasteful, and really don't want to see pictures of the victims.
