A small group of seven grey partridge have been visiting our field over the past couple of weeks, but have taken off sharpish every time I set foot outside the back door - finally managed to grab some snaps of them yesterday (through the bedroom window, so apologies for the quality).

Great pictures. I haven't seen a Partridge for years and years.

I'd never seen one before, it took me three days to get a good enough look to be able to identify it on the RSPB bird finder! They're like little fluffy grey cannonballs with legs!

What a lucky person you are. It would be wonderful if you could get a clear photo. Haven't seen any for years they are wonderful birds I just love them

I am not complaining about the quality of the photos you have already posted as my previous reply might suggest

I'll have another go if they come back - not seen them today.

Great sighting and photos, not seen any in Caithness for several years! They used to be fairly common and I saw them regularly around Dounreay.

Have often seen them in Strathalladale just beyond The Bunk House also out by Achannaras Quary (not sure if I spelt that right,) spotted a female with 5 chicks last summer but did n't manage a decent photo.
