Anyone got any tips for saving on heating bills over the winter? We are in the process of laying insulation in our loft so I hope it makes a difference. I have also hung heavy weight curtains, but is there anything else we could do?

Make sure all windows and exterior doors shut properly to exclude any unwanted draughts.

Wear a jumper in the house and turn heating down a smidge! big fat duvet and no heating at night, a log fire can be free if you scavange for wood, only heat the rooms you are in not the whole house, shut doors in heated room so you don't lose all that heat too. A big dog emits a fair bit of heat rather than the smaller lap dog type, tho they also suck a fair bit of heat from afore mentioned fire! I can reccomend 2 labs and 2 russells for the average family home, the cast hair also insulated the property and you get warm hoovering up after them and walking them!
