Zippy from the kids programme Rainbow.What was he?

Bungo was a bear.
Geoffrey was a guy,now workin' in Sainsburys(allegedly)
George was a Pink Hippo
Rod,Jane and Freddy were singers(allegedly)

Zippy though was a matter of great pub drinking banter.
I always thought he was the love-child of a Smash robot with a brown face-cloth.Any other ideas? :D

The series, which featured George the hippo, Bungle the bear, loudmouth Zippy and human pal Geoffrey, will be repeated by digital channel Nick Jr.

Quiet, shy and unassuming, we won't have a word said against George. Everyone's favourite pink Hippo spent his tenure in the Rainbow house playing with his cars, dolls, transposing Samuel Barber's 'Adagio for Strings' to play on the Twanger and Plinky-Plonker, wearing curlers and shouting Woo Woo when the going got tough.

I don't know what Zippy is. The other character I am not sure of is Goofy from the Mickey Mouse cartoons. What is he?

I thought he was too but Pluto is the dog. Goofy doesn't really look like a dog but I am going to make it my mission to find out. :confused:

Couldn't say for sure as im not sure what she was doing at the time, but id almost put money on the fact that Zippy is my sister in law.

Can't help with the Rainbow Characters. I got banned from watching it after I broke the third screen with a brick as soon as it came on.

It must rank as the most pathetic programme ever, it would insult the intelligence of a two week old baby let alone a child who was older.
It even made Play School look intellectual by comparison.

As for Geffwy, heaven help Sainsburys if that's true. If he had any sense about him at all he could have made a fortune as a cure for insomnia.
Watching to see if the little girl on the test card blinked was more exciting.
I never did manage to stare her out either, she always won. :~(
