After a quick search for Caithness I see Pat Keiran (was a lecturer at Thurso College in my day - may well still be) has got an OBE - well done Pat :D

There may be others but that's the only one I can see mentioned.

Pat is a wonderful man, had the good fortune to work with him at Dounreay. Top bloke.

just to let you all know i got up today and i got a O.B.E ....

OH ....ITS ONE .BOILED. EGG ...



1. Don't ever boil eggs that have come straight from the refrigerator, because very cold eggs plunged straight into hot water are likely to crack.
2. Always use a kitchen timer. Trying to guess the timing or even remembering to look at your watch can be hazardous.
3. Remember the air pocket? During the boiling, pressure can build up and cause cracking. A simple way to deal with this is to make a pinprick in the rounded end of the shell, as left, which will allow the steam to esape.
4. Always use a small saucepan. Eggs with too much space to career around in and crash into one another while they cook are, again, likely to crack.
5. Never have the water fast-boiling: a gentle simmer is all they need.
6. Never overboil eggs (you won't if you have a timer). This is the cardinal sin because the yolks will turn black and the texture will be like rubber.
7. If the eggs are very fresh (less than four days old), allow an extra 30 seconds on each timing.

Well Pat Keiran deserves something for all those times I almost split him in two with my kayak on the surf..

Michelle Mone is a personal favourite of mine, she is just about the perfect woman in my eyes.

Delighted for her.

Above excludes Pat Kieran - he did extrremely well to cope with all the students threw at him through the years - well deserved.

Pat does a great job promoting engineering & science. He deserves this recognition for everything he's done. Congratulations, Pat! :)

I know a few that have received honours over the years, and brown nosing was never on their agenda.

What are they?

1. Having her already surgically enhanced bosom enlarged even more so that she can flash them at the drop of a hat
2. Having it off with all and sundry
3. Almost flogging the birth of her child to national tv
4. Cheating on her husband
5. Selling herself to almost every newspaper over the years that will publish the most trivial and tawdry detail of life.

Or have I missed out the 'charidee' work? (The same charity work that somehow doesn't get as much exposure as Brand Jordan) ;)

I love Jordan, I suppose the collective distaste for her attracts me.
