At 11.00pm, I lost yet another faithful black labrador. Mhairi had a seizure, and died in my arms.
Mhairi never quite took to the joys of shooting, like her late mother Pep, and late brother Dollar. Instead, she excelled at agility.
When she was 8 weeks old and people came to view the litter, she always hid behind me so they couldnt see her. Being soft I decided I couldnt part with her. And now I have to. Rest in peace my lass, for you gave me a great 12 years.

Awww I am so sorry for your loss

Like someone said to me when we lost our Tai in August, a pet never hurts u til its gone and it is so true :~(

So very, very sorry your lovely Mhairi had to leave. Take comfort knowing you had her wrapped in love in your arms as she slipped away.......She is at peace now................hugs.:~(

That's 12 years of love and devotion and happy memories ...from both sides!
Glad she had a peaceful end in the arms of her "Mum".

Sorry you have had to say goodbye to a loved pet, DeHaviland.

I know there are no words that would help heal such a loss, but I hope the sadness that all your orger friends are expressing will help to share your feelings.

DeHaviLand, my heart goes out to you on the loss of Mhairi !
I dread the day that I may lose my "Bairn", but have had pets leave our family before, so can imagine the hurt you must feel.:~(

Did you say something yesterday about possibly getting the sister to one of your dogs? If so, go for it, mate.
