I know that some councils will sell a bag of grit to a member of the public.
Do the Highland council do this? If so, where do I go?
If not, is there anywhere I can get something to put on the yard other than the very small and expensive tubs available in Homebase?

Thanks in advance.

Have repeatedly asked the council for a grit box which am happy for them to put inside our gate to grit a very dangerous corner on a steep gradient in an area the gritter never visits. Last year it took two accidents and five phone calls to get the area treated once. We were even willing to take responsibility of putting the grit onto the road in bad ice, but to no avail. They still take our money in the form of council tax, but leave the disabled and infirm housebound in inclement weather when they can`t use their transport.
