View Full Version : Hands off the BBC digital radio channels on Freeview

Heard this weekend that there are proposals to take the BBC digital radio channels off freeview in the evening to allow BBC Alba to get on to freeview.

Sorry, but there is no digital radio reception here and FM is nothing special either.

If you want to keep BBC Radio1, Radio2, Radio 3, Radio4, Radio Scotland, BBC 6Music, BBC Radio 7, plus the World Service, on Freeview you need to respond to the BBC Trust's consultation. There is a survey to let them know how you feel about it at

Really disappointed to see Highland Council saying it is ok for rural communities with already poor radio reception to lose their freeview radio services to boost Alba viewing. That's fine for them in Inverness with good DAB reception but what about the rest if us? Read what the council has to say here:

...those poor wee souls in Inverness need all the help they can get. We need to petition Highland Council and HIE to put all their money into projects in Inverness.......oh wait a moment they already are!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I agree Inverness is the poor man of the Highlands. :confused

But wait on isn't channel seven an unused/underused Gaelic channel.
