good news, bt have succesfully upgraded 5227 of their exchanges to adsl max and only 155 are not yet upgraded.
You can check your exchange and also get some more info, here:

If you are a bt broadband user, get on their web site and order your free upgrade up to 8mb or what ever your line can support
You have to fill in a form to sign up for another years contract as bt are not upgrading automatically.
