View Full Version : Mis-Heard Lyrics ?
There has probably been a thread on here already about this topic, and no doubt I'll get told if so !! ;)
The, slightly "twisted" lyric that I can't get out of my head just now is a line from the song "Need A Little Help From My Friends".
I know what the line actually is, but for some strange reason, in my head, I sing my own version of -:
"Send me your ear, and I'll sing you a song.....!!"
:lol::lol:
What Would You Think If I Sang Out Of Tune
Would You Stand Up And Walk Out On Me
Lend Me Your Ears And I'll Sing You A Song
And I'll Try Not To Sing Out Of Key
Oh, I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends
Mm, I Get High With A Little Help From My Friends
Mm, Gonna Try With A Little Help From My Friends
What Do I Do When My Love Is Away
Does It Worry You To Be Alone?
How Do I Feel By The End Of The Day
Are You Sad Because You're On Your Own
No, I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends
Mm, I Get High With A Little Help From My Friends
Mm, Gonna Try With A Little Help From My Friends
Do You Need Anybody
I Need Somebody To Love
Could It Be Anybody
I Want Somebody To Love
Would You Believe In A Love At First Sight
Yes, I'm Certain That It Happens All The Time
What Do You See When You Turn Out The Light
I Can't Tell You But I Know It's Mine
Oh, I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends
Mm, I Get High With A Little Help From My Friends
Mm, Gonna Try With A Little Help From My Friends
Do You Need Anybody
I Just Need Someone To Love
Could It Be Anybody
I Want Somebody To Love
Oh, I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends
Mm, Gonna Try With A Little Help From My Friends
Mm, I Get High With A Little Help From My Friends
Yes I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends
With A Little Help From My Friends

Always thought in"There Must Be An Angel"by Eurythmics that the line was:
'Here comes Lorraine again...'

Did you know that mis-heard lyrics are called 'Montegreens'?
Expanation - the old ballad 'The Bonnie Earl of Moray' starts:
They hae slain the Earl of Moray
And lain him on the green.
The last line has been mis-heard as:
And the Lady Montegreen
Hence the term 'Montegreen' was coined!

Actually, "Lady Mondegreen", from the ballad.
They have slain the Earl o' Moray, and laid him on the green ;)
The Ballad actually starts with the words, "Oh wae be to ye Huntly..." the perpetrater of the murder.
